Saturday June 2 Woods’ Tails of Magic dinner and auction found nearly 200 of the shelter’s best friends having a wonderful time at the Embassy Suites Hotel in San Luis Obispo and all for the benefit of the four-legged guests of Woods.

Following the evening’s magical theme, guests were entertained by the master magician Rich Ferguson. Elaine and Jim Gardiner did a wonderful, lively job as auctioneers.

Wine was provided and poured by representatives of Harmony Cellars, Meridian, Four Vines Winery, Robert Hall Winery, Salisbury Vineyards and Cerro Caliente Cellars. Firestone Brewing Company also sent along their beer.

Thanks to all who volunteered the night of the event and to the many businesses, including many more wineries that donated items which were auctioned or wine which was enjoyed at the dinner tables.

Woods Humane Society is kicking off the summer kitten season by offering a new option to our community for Spay & Neuter services. If your cat has recently had a litter, we will spay the mother for free upon delivering the kittens to our shelter. The mother must be scheduled for spay, and picked up after the operations for this offer to be valid.

The Spay Mom for Free program details are as follows:

If you have a mother cat and her kittens and wish to place the kittens for adoption at WHS we will spay the mother for free./p>

The brought-in fee is $60.00 for the litter as opposed to the regular $35.00 fee.

Anyone wishing to take advantage of this program will hold priority on our kitten wait list.
