The Facility

In 2005 Woods Humane Society moved into its new state-of-the-art facility off of beautiful Hwy 1 in San Luis Obispo. The new shelter is 25,000 square feet, sits on 5-acres of land, has a free roaming cattery, two K-9 adoption pods, seven K9 exercise yards, a full surgery center and a 1,300 square foot community room. The facility is run by a professional staff of 30 and can accommodate up to 200 dogs and cats.

One of the best kept secrets about Woods is the Woods-Cashin Surgery Center. Over the past 12 months the Woods Medical Team has performed nearly 4,000 spay and neuter surgeries and provided spay and neuter services for a dozen local nonprofit rescue groups.

Woods Humane Society is the result of a community that cares. We encourage everyone to come out and visit Woods and particularly enjoy leading private tours for small groups.
