  • Adopters RequirementsMust be at least 18 years of age

  • Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide the training medical treatment, and proper care for the animal

  • Bring along any family members that live at your home, including other pets and children, for an introduction to your new Woods companion animal

  • Understand that Woods Humane Society reserves the right to deny any adoption for any Reason

  • Have realistic expectations of your adopted animal

  • Woods Humane Society is looking for life long caregivers for all animals leaving the shelter.

 
 

This commitment involves taking the animal with you when you move, providing proper training and medical care for the anima, and spending time with the animal to meet its needs for physical activity and psychological fulfillment.

Adoption Fees

Puppies and Kittens under 4 months of age:

(includes $25 refundable Rabies Deposit)

Dogs and Cats between 4 months and up to 7 years of age

$115

Dogs and Cats 7 years and older:

$65

Rabies Deposit -

This is a refundable deposit taken as a separate form of payment

When adopting out a canine under the age of 4 months, $25 can be refunded from the adoption fee of $115 upon presenting us with proof that the dog has had the rabies vaccination. The cost to adopt an animal from Woods does not include any overhead cost incurred by the shelter during the animals stay with us. The animals and staff of Woods ask you to please SERIOUSLY consider all of this information before accepting the responsibility of becoming a guardian to one of our dogs or cats.

Woods Humane Society is actively participating as a Lead Agency for SLOVOAD. In the event of a large-scale local disaster, Woods Humane Society will mobilize our resources to support displaced local pets.
