Woods Humane Society highly recommends attending obedience classes as the best way to bond with your new companion. There is no "One Size Fits All" training method. The techniques used in the class that you attend should take into consideration the dog, the handler, and the handler’s expectations. While Woods Humane Society cannot recommend one specific trainer, we can however inform you that we use positive reinforcement as our training method here at our shelter. Many dogs do not respond well to the "jerk and pull" method of training and often times digress with these techniques.
