Be a HERo to Animals in Need!

Woods Humane Society offers community service-oriented kids' volunteer Clubs for Kindergarten through High School! Our programs foster that special child-animal bond and provide kids with the opportunity to learn about, love and help animals in need.

NEW Critter Crew - April - June

Help care for our camp critters (rabbits and guinea pigs)! It's fun and rewarding work! We are looking for either a parent-child team to come in independently on a set day or days, or a youth critter crew (ages 13+) to work under the leadership of our Humane Ed Coordinator on a set day or days after school. Email if you are interested!

Summer Jr. Counselors

High Schoolers - Love kids and animals? Sign up to be a Jr. Counselor for a week or more this summer! June 11-August 17 Email if you are interested!

Furry Friends Club

K-4th Grade - Mondays, 3:30-5:00 p.m. - April 9 + April 16, 2018

$15 per class - REGISTER HERE

Get your warm fuzzy fix, while helping animals in need! Animal Lesson, Enrichent Arts/Crafts & Petting/Socialization/Reading with dogs, cats and possibly other companion animals! Light snack included.


Cat Whisperers Reading Club*

All Reading Ages - Thursdays, 4-5 p.m. - April 12 + April 19, 2018
$5/class (non-refundable)

Reach your reading goals in 2018! Read aloud to our cats and help them relax!*This is a cat-focused, reading program not appropriate for those with severe cat allergies.


5th Grade and up! - Saturday, March 24, 1 - 3:00 p.m.

NO Fee. Help us clean up one of our events for our supporters and then meet some furry friends!


Humane Leaders Club

High School - Mondays, 3:30-5:00, Apr. 9 + Apr. 16, 2018


Share your love for kids AND animals while earning community service hours! Humane Leaders help set up and run our Furry Friends Club for kids, which involves crafting and spending time with Humane Ed animals. It's great for those who wish to explore a career in animal sheltering or education. It's also a great step toward a future role as a Jr. Counselor or Counselor at our Camps!
