Objective: To help the dogs become more adoptable through mental enrichment and basic obedience training.
Duties: Learn and perform the "Do Nothing" exercise which reinforces calm and quiet behavior, volunteers will also engage in basic obedience training.
Qualifications:
- Must be 16 years of age
- Must complete a Volunteer Application
Training:
- Attend the Welcome Orientation
- Attend 1 Canine Enrichment Workshop
Commitment: A minimum of 4 hours a month for 6 months
Supervision: Direct supervision by a Woods Behavior Associate
Progression: After the volunteer attends a total of 4 Canine Enrichment Workshops, and has demonstrated advanced proficiency in animal handling, the volunteer will be evaluated as a candidate for our Off-Site Animal Handling and Pet Visitations volunteer programs. |
