Welcome and thank you for your interest in Woods Humane Society and your desire to help the many homeless animals we care for each year. We are pleased that you have chosen to join our team. We have been serving the Central Coast since 1955, and our longevity Is largely the result of having volunteers like you!
Denotes areas of volunteer service that require the completion of our advanced animal handling workshops.
Special Events Volunteers
Objective: To assist staff in making our outreach events successful
Duties:
Make phone calls to sponsors, donors, participants, and event staff
Solicit and collect donations
Help set up and clean up event area
Participate in the event
Be available to assist with additional projects
Qualifications:
Must be 14 years of age
Must complete a Volunteer Application
Must be willing to attend the event
Must possess good verbal, telephone, and social skills
Training:
Attend the Welcome Orientation
Attend the Special Events Orientation
Commitment: Minimum commitment of a day for the event
Supervision: Direct supervision by the Volunteer/Outreach Coordinator
Volunteers under 18 years of age
Must have a parent/guardian release form on file
Volunteers under 16 years of age
Must have a parent/guardian present to volunteer
Community Service Program
Woods Humane Society welcomes participants with both school and court requested community service hours to join us in helping to provide a premier level of care for the dogs and cats at Woods.
Woods Humane Society is actively participating as a Lead Agency for SLOVOAD. In the event of a large-scale local disaster, Woods Humane Society will mobilize our resources to support displaced local pets.
