Canine Enrichment Volunteers

Objective:

To help the dogs become more adoptable through mental enrichment and basic obedience training.

Duties:

Learn and perform the "Do Nothing" exercise which reinforces calm and quiet behavior, volunteers will also learn basic obedience training.

Qualifications:

Must be 16 years of age.

Training:

Attend one Canine Enrichment Workshop.

Time Commitment:

A minimum of four hours a month for six months

Supervision:

Direct supervision by a Woods Behavior Associate.

Progression:

After the volunteer attends a total of four Canine Enrichment Workshops, and has demonstrated advanced proficiency in animal handling, the volunteer will be evaluated as a candidate for our Off-Site Animal Handling and Pet Visitations volunteer programs.
