Be a HERo to Animals in Need!

Woods Humane Society offers community service-oriented youth volunteer programs for First Grade through High School! Read below to sign up for an upcoming program to help animals in need. To hear about upcoming events, sign up for our newsletter!

**Join our Wiggle Waggle Fundraising Team!**

September - October 12! Join our online youth fundraising team and help us raise funds to make a difference for adorable dogs and cats!!

It's EASY-Peasy.
  • Step 1: Click to join our Woods Youth Yipper Yappers Team!
  • Step 2: Share your page with friends and family (by email, social media, or in person!) and ask them to sponsor you with a donation! (You can even earn  PRIZES!!) Woo-hoo!
  • Step 3: Come to the event on October 12th (not mandatory) and have some fun with your family! (We also need Jr. High & High School Volunteers for the event! Sign up here!)
  • Step 4: Keep track of your fundraising time and email to get your hours verified for school!

Jr. Volunteers - Grades 6-12

Video making, light cleaning and event support 

Woods SLO:

Sep. 5, Sep. 19, Oct. 3, Oct. 17 - 4-5 p.m.

Woods North County:

Sep. 11, Sep. 25. Oct. 9, Oct. 23 - 4-5 p.m. 

Space Limited, Register in Advance



SLO Critter Crew - Grades 1-5

Kong making, reading to the animals, & other projects such as pet portraits and light animal care

Woods SLO: Sep. 18, Oct. 2, Oct. 16, Oct. 30 - 4-5 p.m.

Space Limited, Register in Advance


North County Cat Whisperers - Grades 1-5

Reading to cats plus other projects such as pet portraits and light animal care

Woods North County: Sep. 10, Sep 24, Oct. 8, Oct. 22 - 4-5 p.m.

Space Limited, Register in Advance


High School Jr. Counselors - Grades 9-12

Assist with child and animal care at our younger children's programs (Critter Crew and Cat Whisperers). If interested please sign up in advance for a Critter Crew or Cat Whisperer date and email ahead of the program date.  


Space is limited. Please sign up online. Events are subject to cancellation without refund. $10 per program. Scholarships available; email for information.

-- Students must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian.
-- Please wear closed toe shoes and long pants.
-- This program is not appropriate for those with severe allergies to dogs, cats, rabbits or hay.
