Woods Humane Society offers community service-oriented youth volunteer programs for Kindergarten through High School! Read below to sign up for an upcoming program to help animals in need.

Fall 2018 SESSIONS

North County Cat Whisperers
WHEN: Tuesdays 4 p.m. - 5 p.m.,
November 27 - (CANCELLED)

WHERE: Woods North County: 2300 Ramona Rd, Atascadero, CA 93422
WHO: Youth Volunteers, 1st grade and up
PRICE: $10 per class
WHAT: A supervised volunteer program for youth in 1st grade and up. Read aloud to cats, make a pet portrait, and help tidy up the Cattery at Woods North County.
HOW to SIGN UP: Please register online in advance to participate. Events are subject to cancellation without refund, and spaces are limited. Scholarships available; email HumaneEd@WoodsHumane.org for information.
GUIDELINES:
-- Students must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian.
-- Please wear closed toe shoes and long pants. This program focuses on reading to cats; it is not appropriate for those with severe allergies.
 
 
 

 

Woods SLO - Youth Volunteer Opportunities
Furry Friends (1st-5th grade)Humane Education 2018

WHEN: Monday, Nov. 26 and Dec. 10, 4 p.m. - 5 p.m.

WHERE: Woods SLO: 875 Oklahoma Ave., San Luis Obispo, CA 93405. Please wait outside the Community Room entrance, located to the left of the outdoor cattery from the Visitor Parking Lot.
PRICE: $10 per class
WHAT: A supervised volunteer program for youth in 1st-5th Grade. Help show kindness to animals by making Kong dog treats and toys & reading aloud during Cat & Dog Whisperers Reading Time at Woods SLO.

 Jr. Animal Care (6th-12th grade)
WHEN: Mondays, Dec. 3 and Dec. 17, 4-5 p.m.
PRICE: $10 per class
WHAT: A supervised volunteer program for youth in 6th grade and up. Activities vary and may include: making Kongs for dogs, cat toys, pet portraits, posters, videos, and/or helping with animal care for dogs and cats at Woods SLO.
