Shelter Tours & Humane Ed Presentations

Private Shelter Tours

See what happens behind the scenes at

Woods Humane Society!

At Woods Humane Society, we feel it is important to share with the community about the work that goes on in our shelter and to educate kids about the importance of adopting pets, caring for pets and spaying and neutering pets.

A private shelter tour is an exciting way for kids and adults to learn while getting the behind-the-scenes experience at Woods Humane Society. Every tour is customized and includes an informational and engaging humane education component.

Tours are great for:

  • Girl and Boy Scout Troops interested in earning an animal-care related badge
  • Groups that collected donations for our four-legged friends at Woods
  • Science classes or animal-related clubs
  • Elementary school classes that have completed our Humane Education Course

Book a Humane Education Presentation for your group or class!

Can’t come to Woods? We are happy to come to you! Schedule our Humane Educator for a guest speaking engagement, presentation, Q&A or to host a booth at your event. We can bring an adoptable canine ambassador to most events.

Presentations con cover responsible pet care, the importance of spaying and neutering, bite prevention, and more. We are happy to customize an interactive presentation to meet the needs of your group.

If you are interested in booking a group tour or presentation, please contact Jamie at

From a Girl Scout Troop Mom:

“I really felt that our coordinator went above and beyond expectations to create a program that was engaging, informative, and met the topics we requested.”
